New Horizons - Welcome to New Horizons Tour & Travel

February 5-8, 2010 and February 26-March 1, 2010

Now in its sixth year, the National Performing Arts Festival Walt Disney World® Resort provides the opportunity for High School and Middle School drama students from throughout the country to compete and have fun at one of the most popular student destinations. Your group will enjoy the world famous theme park and also have an opportunity to go behind the scenes to see how Disney magic is made!

FESTIVAL INCLUSIONS:

A 10-minute minimum to 20-minute maximum performance of selections from a theater production of your choice. The performance will be critiqued by a professional adjudicator. Ratings are based on National Standards.
Solo & Duo Competition. Each competitor performs a 5-minute musical or dramatic selection for a professional adjudicator. Following the performance, competitors receive from the adjudicator.
Private Feedback Clinics led by a top theater professional
Specialized Acting Workshops designed to give the students in-depth instruction in a variety of subject matter needed by all performing groups.
An exclusive Tech Tour and Seminar for your tech students taught by professionals at Walt Disney World® Resort.
- Tech student will be split into two groups. One group will do a Costuming and Set Design tour and the other group will do a Sound and Lighting tour. All tech students will do the Special Effects Tour and Seminar.
A special Audition Workshop taught by a Walt Disney World® Casting Director.

AWARDS:

Adjudication and ratings from a panel of experts based on National Standards
A Commemorative Award will be given to all participating groups at a special Awards Ceremony.
A Commemorative Award will be given to solo and duo participants.
Additional awards will be presented to groups and individuals for outstanding performances.
The Showcase Performance. If your group wins the Showcase Award, they will perform for a public audience on a stage at Walt Disney World® Resort.
