Sustainable development is the balance of economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity.
During the month of January, the New Horizons office is collecting used Christmas Cards, and Christmas lights, and properly recycling them. If you are interested in helping the cause, contact Adam Chipman at New Horizons at achipman@nhtt.com
Because of the limits of the earth’s natural systems, this balance is essential to securing life in the long term. When this balance is achieved, we will have reached sustainability.
Everyone must do their part. In our office and on our tours, we encourage our staff to make all decisions with sustainability in mind.
In the summer of 2008, a Green Team was formed at our office to work on environmentally-focused office-based initiatives. Some of these include:
- An aggressive recycling program
- Use of 100% recycled office paper for all printed materials (parent flyers, invoices, itineraries )
- Adherence to power reduction wherever possible (lighting, computers/monitors, printers, copiers)
New Horizons fully supports and participates in the sustainability efforts of our parent company, TUI Travel PLC which is listed on the FTSE4Good Index. The
FTSE4Good Index identifies environmentally and socially responsible companies. For more information on the TUI Travel PLC Sustainable Development initiative please
